This morning at 11 a.m. the new G.I. Joe cartoon, "G.I. Joe: Sigma Six" debuted. I've got some mixed feeling about this one.

The Good: It has Snake Eyes. Duh. They'd be crazy not to put that bad-ass mute ninja commando in the new show. Since the new show is anime-ish, you can imagine how many cool ninja-type things Snake Eyes does. The new show is good and violent! You can't have a cartoon about soldiers without violence! thank Chtulu they realized that! Cobra Commander (and I'll probably catch flak from old die-hard Joe fans like myself) looks BAD ASS. Kamakura and Jinx are in it, so's the love of my life Scarlet. The fights are awesome and watching Snake Eyes turn a 50-foot drop into a gracefull back-flip to stick the landing...well...that alone made the half hour worth it.

The Bad: I don't think the new writers did any real research into th characters (kinda like those dopes who did the cg Gi Joe movies that came with the newer waves of toys). Scarlet's a...Helicopter pilot?!? Tunnel Rat looks like a retarded raver?! AND WHERE THE FUCK IS ROADBLOCK?!? Who's this pansy-ass "Heavy Duty" fool trying to fill in for everyone's favorite head-busting, rhyme-making Joe?! I'm not terribly keen on the costume design. It looks like a cross between Gundam and the Voltron Force. They're SOLDIERS, not superheroes. Snake Eyes' visor looks like it's down around his mouth. They tried to make Snake Eyes look too much like the ninja from MEtal Gear Solid if ya ask me. WHERE'S BEACHHEAD?! What good is a military unit without a completely-out-of-his-mind drill seargant to keep pushing them? Beachhead was always one of my favorites.

I could probably rant on and on about this for pages and pages...but I'll stop right now. Overall, the show's decent, you just have to take it with a grain of salt if you were expecting anything similar to the original show.
